Solid state physics
Solid state physics is a branch of condensed matter physics. It deals with the study of solids, i.e. rigid matter including crystals (ordered solids) and glasses (disordered solids).
Topics
- bandgap
- Bloch waves (electron waves in lattice)
- conduction band
- crystal lattice
- effective mass
- electrical conduction
- electron hole
- electron gas
- phonons (lattice vibrations)
- valence band
