Serbia

Serbia is a republic of south-eastern Europe, which is united with Montenegro in a loose commonwealth entitled Serbia and Montenegro. From 1992, following the independence of Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and the Republic of Macedonia, to 2003 Serbia and Montenegro formed the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.

Serbia is populated mostly by Serbs. Albanians are a majority in Kosovo, Hungarians and Croats in Vojvodina, Roma.

Zoran Djindjic, then current Prime Minister, was assassinated on March 12, 2003. The new Prime Minister is Zoran Živković.

Serbia still does not have an anthem. The unofficial anthem of Serbia is Bože Pravde (God the Righteous).

Administrative division

Serbia has 2 autonomous provinces: Kosovo and Metohia and Vojvodina. Part of Serbia that is neither in Kosovo and Metohia nor in Vojvodina (oftenly called "Serbia proper") is not an administrative division.
