Exonumia is the collection and/or study of minted materials that are not used as legal currency, including but not limited to, for example, elongated coins, encased coins, medals, souvenir medallions, tags, tokens and wooden nickels. It is related to numismatics, and many coin collectors are also exonumismatists.
