Bir Sreshtho

The Bir Sreshtho is the highest military award of Bangladesh. It is given to those who martyred themselves for their nation. In the history of Bangladesh, seven men have won this honor.

Recipients

All the recipients of this award were killed during the Indo-Pakistani Conflict of 1971 or the Liberation War as it is known in Bangladesh.

• Shaheed Mohammed Ruhul Amin (b. 1934 / d. December 10, 1971)
• Shaheed Naik Munshi Abdur Rouf (b. May, 1943 / d. April 8, 1971
• Shaheed Flight Lieutenant M Matiur Rahman (b. February 21, 1945 / d. August 20, 1971)
• Shaheed Lance Naik Nur Mohammad Sheikh (b. February 26, 1936/ d. September 5, 1971
